EDUCATION

When Belarus became an independent state it required engineers for printing and publishing industry. Due to the serious state support of the information and communication technologies sector, the Faculty of Information Technologies was established on the basis of the Belarusian State Technological University. Innovative educational technologies (e-learning and testing complexes), constantly updated educational and methodological, material and technical base have been created and used to train IT specialists. Electronic educational and methodological complexes have been developed and used by students in all the disciplines studied. Work is underway to provide remote access to these resources based on distance education technologies. The leading specialists of the Hi-Tech Park are involved in the educational process. This work is carried out within the framework of a number of bilateral agreements on the interaction of BSTU with the organization-customer of personnel in the training of IT specialists and their further employment. Classes are held in joint educational and R&D laboratories on the basis of BSTU, equipped at the expense of the listed companies, as well as on the basis of training centers of the other side. HTP representatives lead internships, course and diploma projects of students. The main task of the faculty is the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of information technology, capable of conducting both applied and research work in the field of computer science and in many of its applications on the basis of fundamental training in higher and discrete mathematics, physics, color theory, coding theory: from system programming to the creation of the latest software products, computer modeling and analysis, big data technologies and services. An important factor in the innovation of the educational process is its inextricable connection with scientific research, in the performance of which students and undergraduates also take an active part. The results of fundamental and applied research carried out at the departments of the faculty and published in prestigious scientific and technical journals and materials of international conferences are widely known in the country and abroad.

Faculty scientists fruitfully cooperate with educational, scientific and scientific-industrial institutions of the CIS countries and far abroad: L. N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Astana, Kazakhstan), Ivanovo State University (Russia), S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University (Astana), St. Petersburg State University (Russia), Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (Dubna, Russia), Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.
