KAZAN, Jan 29, 2026?– A pivotal strategic session of the Consortium of the?Union State Network University of High Technology (US NUHT)?concluded today at Kazan Federal University (KFU). The event marked a new era of academic integration between Belarus and Russia, led by the active participation of?BSTU Rector Serhei Kasperovich.?As the primary anchor institutions for this large-scale project,?Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU)?and?Kazan Federal University (KFU)?spearheaded the summit, focusing on scaling the consortium’s impact and formalizing its operational structure.
Expanding the Academic Frontier
A major highlight of the session was the official admission of?10 leading universities?into the Consortium. This expansion integrates top-tier institutions – including Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), Belarusian-Russian University, P.O. Sukhoi Gomel State Technical University, and D.I. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia – into a unified high-tech educational ecosystem.
Participants also endorsed the comprehensive?Road Map for 2026–2027, a strategic blueprint designed to align high-tech education with the industrial demands of the Union State.

Key Outcomes and Resolutions
The session resulted in several high-impact resolutions to streamline the project’s success:
- Joint Secretariats:?BSTU and KFU will establish dedicated Secretariats to provide administrative and organizational leadership.
- Digital Integration:?The launch of a shared web portal to serve as a central hub for US NUHT activities, research and communication.
- Expert Coalitions:?The formation of specialized expert groups focused on priority technological sectors.
- Sustainable Funding:?Approval of frameworks for budget requests and diversified financial sourcing to support joint research and mobility.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties
Beyond the boardroom, BSTU Rector Serhei Kasperovich conducted a series of high-level academic and scientific engagements. He met with KFU Rector?Lenar Safin?and toured premier facilities, including Alexander Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, Institute of ecology, Biotechnology and Nature Management and Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems.
Talks were also held at?Kazan National Research Technical University (KAI), where leadership focused on accelerating bilateral research projects and joint degree programs under the US NUHT umbrella.
